NIHR Receives Head of Parliamentary Committee on Woman and Child

The Vice-chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), Mr. Khaled Abdulaziz Alshaer, received MP Fatima Al-Qatari, Head of the Parliamentary Committee on Woman and Child, welcoming Her Excellency and praising the role of the legislative authority in the development of national legislation in line with the international conventions and instruments on human rights to which the Kingdom of Bahrain has acceded.

The Vice-chairperson discussed with Mrs. Al-Qatari a number of views and proposals that would develop the legal system on the child, noting at the same time the full protection of the child in all fields as provided by the Constitution and national legislation, stressing the NIHR’s full commitment to follow-up the extent of adherence to the international conventions and treaties ratified by Bahrain in this regard.

For her part, MP Fatima praised the NIHR’s great role in spreading the culture of human rights at all levels as well as the activities and events held by it to carry out its objectives and competencies provided for in its Incorporation Role, stressing the House of Representative’s full support of the NIHR’s efforts aiming at promoting the principles and foundations of human rights in the society.
